The Snowballers: Ideation!

Greetings again! :)

Another week has passed and we want to tell you the latest news about the Snowballers team :D During the workshop number 4, we focused our attention on ideation process, experimenting different ways of brainstorming in order to boost our creativity.

We found this workshop very funny, but at the same time useful because we manage to come up with lot of new ideas for our team project. The question we focused on was:

"How might we engage the users with our product?"

We started with our ideation process, where we collect a lot of ideas: in the initial phase it wasn't important the quality of the ideas, but just the quantity. We let our minds flow and we wrote down all the possible ideas that came to our minds. We started with an "individual" brainstorming, to pass then to the team brainstorming, where we expressed and discussed the individual ideas. Altogether we had around 18 ideas.

We tried to think to all the possible tools and functionalities in order to make the user feel engaged, emotionally positive and comfortable with the technology:

We also had a step (reverse brainstorming) in which we tried to think to all the possible bad ideas that came to our minds related to our project.  We found this step really useful because it helped us to look to the project from a different point of view and because it helped us to boost our creativity and to find opposite good solutions to the problems. In this step, we gather around 10 bad ideas.

We proceeded evaluating our "wild"ideas using the four different following criteria:

• Desirability (3)
• Usefulness (2)
• Feasibility (2)
• Enhancing well-being/healthy lifestyle (3)

We found that our best ideas related to our project, in terms of the criteria mentioned above, were the following ones:

• Portability (special customized bags, charger, etc.)
• Navigation functionalities (tracking)
• Anti-stress and personal functionalities ( motivating videoclips, tracking of stress levels, good smelling, physical sliders, good materials, personal nicknames etc.);
• Holographic screen and keyboard projection;
• Connection through smartphones;

It was a really useful and nice experience and we are really happy because we managed to come up with lot of ideas and to give finally a direction to our team project. Here below there is a picture of us during the workshop! :)
